Project Development Analyst

Employer Description: US Solar is a developer and owner/operator of solar projects, specializing in community solar markets.

Position Description:

US Solar is looking for a Project Development Analyst who will support and assist in development of a pipeline of community solar and utility-scale solar projects, including site acquisition, permitting, interconnection with the utility, origination of revenue contracts, and whatever it takes to complete these projects. Working closely with others in the Project Development Team, this position also requires analysis of potential sites, zoning ordinances, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Project Developers
  • Evaluate potential sites for suitability
  • Converse and negotiate with landowners, in effort to secure new sites for solar development
  • Support new opportunities for the acquisition or development of new distributed and utility-scale solar projects
  • Assist the team in preparation of contracts required for completing development of solar projects
  • Prepare and deliver applications, proposals, presentations, etc. to external stakeholders like local government units and electrical utilities
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including, but not limited to, environmental permitting specialists, project managers, and designers to prepare and develop proposals, feasibility studies, property leases, permit packages, and responses to Request for Proposals
  • Educate communities on the benefits of solar
  • Assist the Finance team
  • Organize, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner to meet project development schedules and budgets and successfully reach construction

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience in a similar role or utilizing a similar Core Proficiencies; Solar PV experience and knowledge preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of finance/business concepts
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of and passion for the solar marketplace, technology, and industry
  • Ability to do minor in-state traveling
